Kiss My Zen: Meditate... NOW!!!

Ahh, the world is ever changing. It moves, it sways, it pushes you down to the ground. Let's chat about meditating for a bit. Now, a lot of people assume that to meditate you have to go through some sort of ritual. That you must shave your head, buy cool orange robes, light smelly goody stuff, and sit for hours on end. Well, you are right... and wrong. If you choose a certain path then all the fun ritual stuff can certainly be part of that journey for you. Now if you are like me (super/hyper-type A, with a touch of OCD--with an ADD cherry on top)... the ritual stuff might not be the best way to go.

Meditating is just finding stillness in any moment. You can do a simple ritual (light a candle, incense, etc), or have no ritual except for sitting in peace. You can make it what you will, do not let others dictate your path. Do what feels right. The biggest thing is just finding the time to do this meditating thing. MAKE TIME. Stress is killing us. We cannot afford not to let go of the stuff that worries us.

Even if you have 5 min while sitting on the toilet (sorry for the graphic, but you get my point).

Interview on Meditation

What a week...

GEEEEZZZZZ.... I'd like to tell the guy (or gal) that said the universe doesn't give you more than you can handle and tell them to KISS MY ZEN!!! Though this has been a tough week, it has not been a completely horrible week. We had the opportunity to go out and connect with folks at the local gay pride event this weekend. It was amazing. We had a lot of folks coming up to us and asking us what Zen Fusion is, and to even demonstrate some yogic poses. I also learned that my long time crush Tom Goss is now engaged, and that he writes love songs to his new partner-to-be (that guy can KISS MY ZEN!!!-- j/k--- all the best). It is amazing to see people coming together and sharing in a moment. We had a great time. Work has been hectic... and since I have like 6 jobs, my life is constantly non-stop. I hope you all are doing well, breathing, and finding some stillness in the storm of life. The rain always passes...

Creating community or What technology has stolen from us

I love computers, texting, and all this wonderful technology... but, it has robbed us all of connecting with each other. You do not even have to speak to friends, they are just a click away. Everything they are doing, what their moods are, and even where they are. What would we do without all this technology?

Oh, that's right.. We'd have to talk to each other. We would have to share in each others emotions, joys, sadness, and actually have to connect with people. I've know people that have broken up over text or myspace message. C'mon people! Wake up, and connect. Do not let computers rule the world, or your life. Can you spend a day without electronic non-verbal connection? Can you reach out to those in your life without the use of text, or messenger service?

But really... Creating community is more than just putting down the texting. Its about really being there for someone. Its aobut being part of something so much greater than being in our little bubbles. Be part of life... don't let it pass you by!
